I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to have the administrator use Active Directory for log in.

I've looked at the connection string and can set integrated security to true, but the value doesn't keep. The next time I log in it's been reset and I'm asked for a log in.

Is this even possible?

SalesLogix Windows client supports a windows user mapping approach but it is not AD integrated. This is all in hard-code and you can't change it.

SalesLogix web (7.5.x) client can be setup with Windows authentication... but it's still not AD integrated.

All of this is in the SalesLogix docs.

Do you mean the Administrative tool can also be set up to use a windows user mapping?

I haven't seen that anywhere in the documentation, nor can I find a way to configure it.

The Windows Clients are all already set up and running using the user map approach.

You do NOT want to map the Admin user to a Windows user.. EXCEPT for when you are using SalesLogix components that require it:
ex: sData Portal, etc..
and then it will be the "WebDLL" user.

Otherwise, no.. the Architect, Admin, and Application Architect cannot be made to use the "Windows" authentication.. all hard-wired..
