Hi Everyone

Thanks to Ted, I've read the thread for performance at http://www.slxdeveloper.com/page.aspx?id=35&articleid=66&#c, but wondering if there is anything else or new developments since that was some years ago. Most specifically in a Citrix environment.

The thread helped me discover the cache in the D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SalesLogix\Cache\6UJ9.
Does anybody know what that is and if it affects performance to have the old stuff in that folder?

Thanks
Jim

Another question to this cache-folder: i recently discovered that these files there are plain text of the slx-scripts - that is a major security issue in my eyes.
Is there a way to turn caching off or to encode the cached files?
Thanks,
Marty

They are already encoded - where are you seeing them in plain text ?
There's no way to turn off this feature.

For Jim: These are cached plugins. For performance - SalesLogix looks at the plugin in the database and then crc compares it with the local cache copy. If there's no difference - the local version is used, otherwise the new one is streamed into the folder. If you deleet this folder and login again you will find the initial login is slow as it builds these files but, over time, you'll have most of them local and not need to fetch from the server. This is a co-operative effort split amongst all users (but, with an empty folder, the initial user takes the hit!) as each user logins in and performs various functions then the plugin cache grows as they hit the relevant plugins.
