Hello - when one clicks the "send SLX" button in Outlook (2003) the message is sending correctly, updating SLX correctly, but a new, blank message is also opening. Is only occuring for a single user, but we aren't sure which setting would be causing this.

Small question - how is the original email first opened? Is the user clicking the "New" button in Outlook, clicking on the little "e" button in SalesLogix next to the email address, or some other way? This could help identify the issue.

The only other thought I have on it is that maybe Outlook has some setting switched that automatically does this. The reason this came to mind is because there is the setting that if you delete a message, the next one in the inbox pops up right after that. I don't see anything in my Outlook that says "Open a new email when sending", but there are a myriad of ways to get at various settings and add-ons in Outlook, along with multiple versions following my 2003 version.

Other than that, I'd say that user is cursed.

Not sure if this would cause it, but is this user by any chance using Word as his Email Editor?

In general, you should stay away from doing so when using SLX Integration.

It doesn't seem to matter which way to mail is originally opened. We are using Outlook 2003

It happens when:
click the e from SLX, send, a new one opens
open a new email in Outlook, send SLX, a new one opens
Forward an email from Outlook, send SLX, a new one opens

No - we are using HTML format, but not Word as editor

Unfortunately, I have no idea then. If it only happens when that one person clicks Send SLX, and not the normal Send button, and it can happen after setting up the email either through SalesLogix or outside SalesLogix, then it sounds like the behavior is pretty strictly tied to the Send SLX button. Maybe uninstall Outlook integration and then reinstall it - but other than that, it's a mystery to me.

I agree with Jeff: Uninstall and reinstall the Outlook integration. Maybe even look out for installed versions on other folders.
Also, what other COM-Add Ins are registered on this user's machine? Maybe there are some duplicate (or some other corrupted) plugins in place.

OK - we figured it out. The Outlook .NET Programability Support features (there are 3 in Outlook 2003) were not installed. Installed them and that seems to have corrected the issue. (fingers crossed)
