Hi,

I've got hundreds of error messages in the Event log:

IndexThread.Execute Error: dtSearch Server initialization failed. HomeDir: C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SpeedSearch\Bin

We' re running SalesLogix 7.2.1 on Windows Server 2003/MS SQL 2005. Does anyone knows what that means?

Many thanks in advance!
Thomas

A couple of things to look at:
A - is speedsearch running unser a user that has admin rights (ex:SlxService user)? - if not do so.
B - OOTB the schedules in Speedsearch are set to happen all at the same time:
1 - Fulls happen at midnight
incs happen together.
Stagger the schedules.

New to SaleLogix, have the same error.

Can you please detail the settings I need to change and how to change? Thanks.

As I've just had to resolve this error, I thought I'd write out what I needed to do - might assist someone one day ...

1) Add the Speedsearch service user (eg domain\SLXService) to the Administrators group on the server on which the Speedsearch service is running.
2) Restart the Speedsearch service.
