Any idea on this error message
SlxSearchService.Ini is not correctly configured. Please stop service and run SpeedSearchConfig.
Thanks for your help

Hi,
You either need to stop the SpeedSearch Service if your not using it? or configure it:
(1) Stop the SpeedSearch Service
(2) Go to Start | All Programs | Sage SalesLogix | SpeedSearch Configuration and configure SpeedSearch
(3) Restart the SpeedSearch Service

Adam is not quite right here.
- You need to go to C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\Speedsearch\bin
- Inside that folder you will find SpeedSearch.Ini.
- Open the file with Notepad, and make sure that you set the SLX Server and SLX DB Alias Name.
- After saving the file, go to the Services applet (Administrative Tools/Services)
- Within the Services applet, find the SpeedSearch service and Restart it.
- Log back into SLX Administrator, this time when you go into Speed Search configuration you will no longer receive an error message.

Hi,
If Im not right, then its a bug. You should'nt need to modify the SpeedSearch.ini file, that's what the SpeedSearch Configuration is for.

It is not a bug, it is a configuration step.
The same way that you have a Step to create a Connection via the SLX Connection Manager,
there is a step in configuring Speed Search, which involves typing the SLX Server and DB Alias name on the INI file, and then Restarting the service.

Thanks for the clarification Raul. Can you let me know where this configuration step is within the SalesLogix Implementation guide please.

Well, I guess I need to read more carefully next time I reply.
You are correct, for Some reason I thought I had read your response as Going into the SLX Administrator, and then Configure SpeedSearch.
That being said, I typically just edit the INI manually.
