Hi,

We are running SLX 7.5. All of our remotes are cut on my sync server using SQL2005 Express. All but one of my users gets SQL 2005 Express installed by the SLX Remote Client install and everything works fine.

We have one user who has a different app on their machine that requires SQL 2008. The installation of this app appears to have removed/upgraded some of the SQL2005 components, so SLX Remote no longer works.

Can I use SQL2008 Express to manually create the SALESLOGIX instance that Remote requires and have it open a remote created in SQL2005 Express? I know how to create the SQL Express instance (in 2005, I assume 2008 will be similar), I just want to know if the client's 2008 will open a remote db cut in 2005.

I am also concerned about breaking the other app (that put on 2008 Client) because we do not "own" this app.

Thanks

Yes, SQL2008 will work with 2005 DB's.
