SLX 754 Connection from DMZ Fails to LoginYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi,

We are experiencing an issue whereby a SalesLogix connection made from a client in the DMZ, connection to a SalesLogix database on a network is not logging in and reporting the following error: "Named Pipes provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [53]"

The SalesLogix and SQL servers are on the same network and the client is in the DMZ.  This client happens to be running a server OS: Windows Server 2012 R2.

We are able to ping both servers from the client and can even connect directly to the SQL server database using a SQL Native Client provider, but not through the SalesLogix provider.  This however will only work if using a Fully Qualified Domain Name.

We have seen that traffic is able to reach the SalesLogix server and the SQL server, but the client will then close the connection.  (seems to be a timeout?)

We have enabled the following ports on the firewall between the DMZ and the network:

1706 UDP/TCP

1707 UDP/TCP

51101 TCP

1433 TCP

135 UDP/TCP

137 TCP

138 UDP

139 TCP

445 UDP/TCP

Any help would be appreciated.
