Do Opportunities need to have an Account to be created?

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi all.
Do Opportunities need to have an Account to be created? We're trying to create a system that identifies samples, we would create an opportunity for a product sample and after many steps if we decide to manufacture that product sample then the opportunity is closed succesfully, if we decide not to manufacture it then it'll be closed unsuccesfully.
We don't want to have to create an account called "Samples" to be able to create multiple opportunities.
So, do we HAVE to create a generic account for samples to then be able to create numerous opportunities (which don't need an account for our case). |

fiogf49gjkf0d Simply put, Yes. Unless you are willing to make a lot of modifications. Creating a dummy Account is a simpler way to go. You don't have to worry about version upgrades or database schema change. That's in my IMHO of course. Regards,
