Re: Cant Open the Client error is LoggingServer Does not have access to the specified logging path.

When we ran into this early on, it was permission issues on the share in question. In two different instances it was caused by local permissions (on a user's workstation) once and by permissions on a network share another time.
Check your permissions. Where is the logging server attempting to access? Make sure SLX (not sure on the specific name/process) can access it. |

I've seen this very same issue rather recently. All the permissions were correct. Everything was defined according to the book. Yet the client program could not be logged in. I then tried a little experiment. We changed the logging path (and defined the necessary Documents & Library folders) to the SLXService folder. It was there, why not try. And it worked. Then tried to access the old SyncLogs folders from a script within the client. No Go. As far as I could determine, the old SyncLogs folder paths were somehow corrupted at the operating system level. I'm not sure why, and I would welcome any good guess. The server is the 64 bit version of Windows 2008 Server. At least the application is now up and running. |
