SLX v7.0 Mass Email
Posted: 30 May 07 4:24 PM

I have loaded SLX v7.01 as a test environment. One of the questions I have been faced with is whether this version can handle mass emails... For instance, we email some 700-900 emails at any moments notice using Exact Target. Does anyone have experience dealing with SLX and mass email groups? Will SLX come to a complete crawl if we do so? We have some 60 users at any given time accessing the SLX database. Also, how do I go about using SLX v7.0 in this capacity if it is capable? I would figure that who ever launches the huge mail merge will need to go home for the evening due to it hammering their cpu. |

If you are doing that kind of volume, you may want to consider sticking with Exact Target since it gives you the open, bounce, and click through info. It also gets you white listed, doesn't tie up a workstation, is CANSPAM compliant, and can do surveys. I don't know how much of the feature set you are using with them, but I know that many organizations also like being able to lock content before turning their users loose with it.
FYI - There is an integration between SalesLogix and Exact Target. Contact me directly if you need to be pointed in that direction.

I would also recommend looking at SwiftPage Email for bulk emails rather than sending them directly out of SalesLogix using your standard exchange server or ISP. http://www.swiftpage.com/site/saleslogix/index.htm
If you do not like Swiftpage, there is another email service called Empulse. However, personally, have not found that as user friendly as SwiftPage. I have not used Exact Target with integration to SalesLogix.
You can reach me off line at chad@ensync-corp.com to discuss further. |
