VPN Access - SLX Failing to Connect

In the past I used to access our firm network via VPN and was able to open and work in SLX. Months ago SLX suddenly stopped working with the use of VPN and only works when directly connected to our network in the office. The error message I receive is “SLX server connection failed…….”
Can someone tell me why, and what I can do to fix it? I have received user complaints regarding this issue.

First, check the port SLX is using is open as Frank suggests. If that is fine, try recreating the SLX connection data link.
