SLX v6.2.4

Not sure if I am doing something wrong....I backed up my production database and restored as a copy to a new database in Enterprise MGR. Everything looked as if it worked...no error messages. Made sure I cleared the serverpath in the syncserver table....My problem is this...I am trying to now login into the database thru the client...I am adding a new entry in the data Link Properties window...everytime I enter the info in the fields i keep getting an error message stating that could not establish conection w/SLXServer...make sure its running and PORT is correct....the fields are all the same as the other databases I have set up (I have Test db's, development db's, etc.) all are set up the same.....why would i be getting this error...did i forget a step?
