I need to get into the SLX data schema. Not through the DBA access but how SalesLogix defines the fields behind the scenes. That data has to be stored some where. Anyone know the backdoor?

Marc

EDIT:
---------------
Is this the table? SYSDBA.ORMCOLUMN

Marc,

sysdba.SECTABLEDEFS is the table where all information about SLX data schema is stored.

I'll give you just enough to be dangerous:

RESYNCTABLEDEFS - basically defines the tables in SLX
SECTABLEDEFS - basically all the fields in the tables in SLX
JOINDATA - the joins between various tables in SLX

There are probably more that I've missed; those are off the top of my head - I'm sure others will jump in.

I've not worked with ORMCOLUMN, so I'm not sure how it's used.

Be careful if you choose to manually manipulate these tables - the power to shoot yourself in the foot is there.

RESYNCTABLEDEFS doesnot store all table info ( i have created 11 tables , only 4 tables in this table .Why ???)
Moreover it also stores info about views.(not all views comming up in this table ???)

Thanks guys but I actually found more of what I was looking for in the ORMCOLUMN table. I needed to see how a datatype was stored. in the Database Manager I have a Currency field with a Precision/scale of 255,4. In the ORMCOLUMN table it's listed as a decimal with no precision/scale. "Correct" currency fields are 17,4 and listed in the ORMCOLUMN table as decimal with 17,4.

Something is clearly messed up. I'm working with my business partner and SalesLogix Support.

You misssed the encoded datablobs in all of the SECPROFILES records

But they are easy to miss.

FYI: ORMCOLUMN is created for Oracle databases. Sorry for the confusion.
