upgrading from MSDE 2000 to SQL 2005 Standard
Posted: 18 Jun 09 11:37 AM
We're hoping to do an in-place upgrade from MSDE 2000 to SQL 2005 Standard in the next week. Wondering if anyone has any experiences to share?
Anyone know of a good walkthrough?

I don't have experience with SQL 2005 Standard, but I do have a little experience with SQL 2005 Express.
I discovered that SQL 2005 Express will not function correctly if XP service pack 3 is already on the pc. The applications will coexist, it's just that SQL 2005 Express must be installed prior to installing SP3.
Not sure if SQL 2005 Standard will behave in the same manner, but I thought that I would share this.
