I am trying to connect Saleslogix 7.5.4 with an Oracle database (11g R2 running on Linux) which is listening on port 1529 instead of Oracle's default port 1521, but it seems that SalesLogix is only supporting port 1521. As soon as I change the port to 1521 I am able to connect, but unfortenatly the customers database is using port 1529

I am using the database alias <server>/<Instance>:<port> within the connection manager, but this works only fine as long as the Oracle database is running under 1521.

Does anyone have some experience with that issue?

Many thanks in advance,
Thomas

Sorry Thomas, but i'm pretty sure you are missing something.

I have clients running Oracle on crazy port numbers like 9999.

I think you should confirm first that the server/instance:port is really there (i mean accessible).  You could try with SQLDeveloper tool from Oracle itself and do some tests.

Also, have you checked the firewall settings on both the server and client?
