SQL Server 2005

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi. I have a big problem. I have a server, with a SQL Server 2005 intalled on. Someone else installed this program, and I think that is the problem. Then, I installed SLX AdminTools 6.2.4, and when I try to create a Remote User Data Base, a message appears in my screen. This said, "....Error in step: stpExecSQL_CreateDb Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server Invalid object name 'sysxlogins'... I thought when the login 'sa' was created, they didn't give him enought acces to the data bases. To proove that, I created a new login, and I asigned to him, all the data bases. But it didn't work. In an SLQ Server 2000 environment, it works perfectly. Thanks to whom can solve this problem. |

fiogf49gjkf0d To cut a remote database, SLX uses DTS which is a part of SQL 2000 (doesn't exist in SQL 2005 as it was replaced with SSIS).
In order to cut a remote database for SLX, either SQL 2000 or MSDE needs to be installed on the machine you're performing the cut on (you can still have the SLX database hosted on SQL 2005, but the SQL 2000 or MSDE components are required to cut the database) |

fiogf49gjkf0d You can make it work by doing this:
o Enable "xp_cmdshell" via Surface Configuration - Used to to delete the current .LDF and .SXD file if they exist.
o Create in "master" db a view as:
- create view sysxlogins as select * from sys.syslogins - The sysxlogins view is used to grab cached SQL user info. See http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2000/maintain/sp3sec02.mspx
However, this will make you a SQL2005 remote database - so you will then need SQL Express on the laptop. None of this is supported !!
