I'm just beginning to test SQL 2005 on my development server. Anyone had issues with SLX running on this version of MS-SQL?

Which version of SLX? v6.2.3 should work fine with SQL Server 2005; however, you will still need MSDE or SQL Server 2000 to cut remote databases.

I have SQL 2005 and SLX 6.2.3 installed on a test machine and so far I have not found any issues with it.

I will add to this as I test it further.

Have you tried any of the new features such as row_number() and CTE' s?
Is the new features works well with SalesLogix OleDb Provider ?

Beware of SP1 ! I had a dbserver that was 2000 SP4 and upgraded to SQL2005 with no issues. However, I had a heck of a time moving to SP1. It may just be me - but if you get failures with the upgrade in DBServices it may just be this:

By tracing the logs etc. I managed to find the issue - the upgrade places files into
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Install

but SP1 (on an upgraded 2000-2005-2005SP1) looks for them in:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Upgrade

and, it also looks for files that are MISSING from the actual folder ! In
order to complete the upgrade - you need 21 files in the upgrade folder.
So, the solution is to just dump the contents of this zip file into both folders prior to running the SP1 install. (if you need the files - contact me - they are difficult to find as the install of SQL2005 removes them on completion. I still don't understand how this can be working for anyone else !

You know, when I first installed SQL 2005 over the top of my existing SQL 2000 instance, I noticed when it was done that the database engine itself was never upgraded. In those instances, when you open up the 2005 Management Studio and connect to the database, it will show the database engine as version 8.xx.xxxx.

I then went and completely removed all instances of SQL from the machine, rebooted, and installed SQL 2005. The database engine was then 9.00.xxxx.

The one glaring difference in the new SQL 2005 - no DTS anymore!

Yes, but that's OK with me, SSIS is much better

Although, just to point out, you can still download the DTS runtimes for use with SQL2005.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Components:
The Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Data Transformation Services (DTS) package designer is a design tool used by developers and administrators of SQL Server 2005 servers to edit and maintain existing DTS packages until they can be upgraded or recreated in the SQL Server 2005 Integration Services package format. After installing this download, SQL Server 2005 users can continue to edit and maintain existing DTS packages from the Object Explorer in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio and from the Execute DTS 2000 Package Task Editor in Business Intelligence Development Studio, without needing to reinstall the SQL Server 2000 tools. The DTS package designer in this download was formerly accessed from the Data Transformation Services node in SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/4/D/44DBDE61-B385-4FC2-A67D-48053B8F9FAD/SQLServer2005_DTS.msi

However, just because you can do it, doesn't mean you'd really want to pass on all the new power available in SSIS
