Installation Source not available

I get that the installation source is not available when trying to apply SP6 for 6.2. I believe this one PC was installed from a location that no longer exists and I do not know the exact path in order to recreate it.
I am not against completely removing SLX from this machine and starting from scratch, the uninstall states the same error when trying to pull slx through add/remove programs.
Thanks, |

This sounds a bit like windows confusion. I have never heard of this error with SalesLogix, so I popped it into google, and a few things popped up. The top site, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325084, addresses this issue with microsoft products and recommends running the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. I looked at a couple of other websites as well, and they recommended the same thing (if you can't completely uninstall the software yourself). Either way, it looks like you should completely uninstall and reinstall SalesLogix to resolve this issue. On the adobe website, they recommended caution with using the cleanup utility, as you might end up removing more than you should.
I hope this was somewhat helpful... Jeff |

You can try copying down the install source locally and point your uninstall to the MSI when it asks for the location. MSI's sometimes do not work well over UNC's that have spaces.
If that doesn't work, run SETUP.exe as an admin from that local source and when it launches select REMOVE. If it still chokes then the vendor install codes do not match and you would probably need to reimage the machine.
