Error attempting to determine database version. Please check the connection string.Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I am attempting to upgrade a SalesLogix database from version 5.2 to 7.0 and I am getting the following error when attempting to use the "Upgrade Existing Database" tool:
"Error attempting to determine database version. Please check the connection string."

After I click "OK" to that error I get :
"Connection failed: missing connection or conenctionstring"

I checked on Sage support online and found Resolution ID: 468281, but I am checking the "Allow saving password" option, so I'm not sure what else I can do.

Please help!

Thank you!

Nicholas,
I never heard anything back on this post. I must have figured it out because I am now on v7.0, but I forget the resolution.

Which db users are you using in the tool? I think I may have been trying to work around the sysdba id and eventually I had to use that to get this to work.
