Hello everyone,

I have a question about the impact and possibility of installing multiple Saleslogix servers (application layers) talking to the same database. From my experience, some activities, such as realigning accounts, or importing new accounts for example, seem to greatly slow down the performance of the end users SLX client. When this is going on, I don't see much of a performance hit to the server, so I'm assuming the bottleneck is somewhere in the SLX layer.

Has anyone ever installed two Saleslogix server instances and had them both point to the same SQL database? I would use one instance for administration type stuff and let the other instance run for the end users.

Thank you, ...Rob

Not possible - when you configure a SLX server to point to a database, it writes the servername or IP address in the PINGSERVER field in the SYSTEMINFO table. This value is used by clients to know where to communicate with for sending cue files for logging etc. There's no way to specify two of those.
