SalesLogix Server on the PDC

I seem to recall that you should not put the SalesLogix Server on a Primary Domain Controller, but I'm wondering if this is still an issue in the later versions 7.x+
Anyone know?
This is for my local environment, not a client and I'm rebuilding my small but effective in office network and would like to put my production server on the PDC. Thoughts? |

Matt - missed you at Insights.. put Nashville May 11th 2009 on your calendar...
We use SBS2003 (from "Action Pack") as our main "business" server. it has: A - Exchange B - (P)DC C - DHCP D - DNS E - Sharepoint F - SQL server w/our production SalesLogix db G - SalesLogix Server H - BES I - SyncServer J - TaskCentre v4.5 .. and a bunch of other things
However I would never do this type of a setup for a client. -- RJLedger - rjlSystems "...Customer First..."™ |

Good to hear. You're right, I'd never recommend it for a client but it's not a bad thing if you're right there to manage it everyday like we are.
Yeah, I wished I could have gone to insights, but two large client upgrades this week put that off. I'm hoping to be in Denver in November though. You going to be there?

I may go to Denver.. but it depends if a couple of my clients go or not.. if none do.. I see it as a waste of time (for me) since it's really customer centric.. not BP centric (like Insights). -- RJLedger - rjlSystems "...Customer First..." |
