Just got in a new Dell Precision M4300 laptop with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M. Windows looks great, however the fonts in SLX are way to large and widely spaced. All other apps look great with the exception of SLX. The text pushes the forms way wider and taller than normal causing it to crop. We are running 6.2.6 on XP. I have tried re-installing tbe NVIDIA drivers and SLX but no go. Anyone run into this or similar?

Hi David,

Have you done anything with the font size i.e. DPI Settings on the laptop?

From the Implementaion Guide:
Small Fonts/Normal Size. Ensure the user’s Windows’ Display settings are set to Small Fonts or Normal Size (the name of the option varies depending on which version of Windows is installed).

Cheers,

Steve

One of the first things I tried. Affects the desktop but not SLX. Strange!

I take it you made the change back to 96 DPI and rebooted?

It was on 96dpi and mostly stayed there until late in the testing and then I started playing with the custom settings but later reverted back to 96 when nothing seems to affect SLX. Not to mention reloading various versions of the nvidia drivers and reloading SLX. For the moment I had to move on to other problems and let him just deal with this for a few days until I get caught up and fine a resolution.

Hi David,

Did you select "Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products"?

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-uk

Sorry I don't know what else to suggest.

Cheers,

Steve

Hi David,

Go to control panel and use the NVIDIA Control Panel to sort out the graphics display. Select Display and then select Change Resolution Attributes.

My machine display went haywire after investigating the DPI stuff. Running the NVIDIA Control Panel sorted out my display issues i.e not getting max resolution and the appearance being rubbish.

Hopefully that will get you going!

Cheers,

Steve
