Attching remote databases in sql server 2008

Hi all,
I am trying to attach the remote database to sql server 2008. but i am getting error "Failed to attach databse:class not registered".i tried installing the msde 2000 and again i tried but i am getting the same error.
Can i use the sxd file to attach to sql server 2008 manually?
Please help me to slove this issue.

Yes.
The sxd is the Data File, so you should be able to use SQL store procedures to attach single file db.

Rename it to .mdf first to make things easier ...
