Installing Remote Client
Posted: 05 Aug 09 1:37 AM
Windows XP SP3, MS SQL 2005 Express SP3, SLX 7.2 SP2
I am trying to install a remote client for a user.
Database was attached. Then sp_change_users_login 'Update_One', 'sysdba', 'sysdba'.
'Connection manager' works fine, but then I try to login as user SLX display message "Database login failed: invalid object name 'plugin'".
Any ideas what could be causing this problem?

Hi,
Are you manually attaching versus using AttachRemote? Using AttachRemote with the "\ADMIN" switch gives you more control over the process and avoids having to do stuff like the sp_change_users_login step. Of course, normal AttachRemote should run fine in most circumstances.
This error means that sysdba user cannot access the PLUGIN table (which should be owned by SYSDBA). It might be a case that you need to try recutting the database.
If that doesn't work, I would consider uninstalling SQL and then reinstalling and attaching the database using AttachRemote to properly configure the SYSDBA user.
