I know it's not technically supported, but I'm wondering if anyone's had any success with 7.0.1 on Windows 7 *without* using the XP mode virtualization tool. We're upgrading SLX in mid-January, but I have 2 laptops I need to get up and running right now. They came with Windows 7 on them, but do not support hardware virtualization, so that's not an option. I know I can't install MSDE 2000 on Windows 7. Is there another option, besides dual-booting Win7 and WinXP?

Can you upgrade to 7.0.2? We have no issues with the client or administrator on 7.0.2. Architect is a different issue.
