I just installed SLX 7.5 on windows server 2008 with SQL server 2008.
I immediately upgraded to SLX7.5.2 I could open up Saleslogx connection manager and created the connections as described in the implementation guide. But when i tried to run administrator or any other SLX application they would error out immediately. (before showing the log on screen.) windows just showed the standard "this program crashed. check for solutions online? ..."
the event viewer reported:
"Faulting application Admin.exe, version 7.5.2.2151, time stamp 0x2a425e19, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e037dd, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000bf9cd, process id 0x194c, application start time 0x01ca7f5d5298fa09"

The only thing I could find in the knowledge base similar suggested uninstalling and reinstalling .net so i tried it with no success.
also when uninstalling SLX it says there is an assembly that could not be found, but It does not specify or show up in event viewer.

Edit:

The crash details are as follows

In *general* (but not with SLX), we've resolved .NET assembly info by using the Fusion Log Viewer (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e74a18c4%28VS.71%29.aspx).

Maybe that will help point to the problem...

Since you are showing the dump from Architect.exe I might hazard to guess that you are not having and issue with .net installation. This component happens to be a legacy component and AFAIK the only .net component in it right now is the .net extension manager. Ruling out this we will look at the server and db. Since these are both 2008 I would hazard to guess that you may be having an issue with the connectivity to SQL2008 (a possibility). Look into your connection manager and check which sql provider your using. I believe I have seen problems with native 10 connections (sql 2008) and you more then likely should be using the the Standard SQL provider.

Good hunting.
