Hi

I am trying to install saleslogix on windows server 2003 with sql server 2008 as back end(I want to install slx 7.5 and sql server on same machine i.e win 2003 server. The following are the steps i have followed up to now where i have got stucked with an error.

1. while i am installing saleslogix first i choosed "standard server installation"
2. Then i have choosen "equired administrative tools and server"
3. So after accepting license agreement and choosing typical options( As we are using saleslogix exchange link i have not choosen intellisync for webportal option) i have taken to next step
4.In the next step i have choosen the use local system account option as i am only person will use the slx application
5. In saleslogix server options step, i have given the sa pasword of my sql server 2008 after checking the insall eval and blank databses
6. I am getting the below error.

"The saleslogix cannot be installed at this time.Please correct the problemor modify your feature selection. Unable to SQL SERVER LOCATION"

Could any body help me in this issue

Are you using a named instance or the default instance for SQL Server? If using a named instance, make sure you are referencing the location as server_name\instance_name.

When I ran into this problem with SQL Servr 2008, I just copied the databases to the server and manually created and attached the databases. Run the sysdba update script after attaching the databases and you should be good to go.
