SalesLogix OLE DB Provider in 6.2 Sp3

Hello, We are attempting to package the Salelogix client version 6.2 Sp3 for use with Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V/Softgrid are it's other names).
We are having some issues when monitoring the installation (Microsoft call it sequencing) to build the package and the package does not run. I've narrowed it down to the database connection component. When I attempt to run the app it attempts to make a connection to the database and fails then crashes. I believe it uses Borland Database Engine (BDE). Is there a way to install this component seperately?
Thanks!

Honestly, I don't know this application very well. I just know that the database connection component of the package refuses to be sequenced. It might not be BDE. This is just what I thought it might be trawling through the internet.
Thanks. |

Also, why are you using SP3? As far as I recall, SP3 did not overcome the Time zone Issues, unless you had applied the Registry patch to the machines.
Not sure if this has anything to do, but the crash may be due to this Issue, and if so you may need to apply the Registry patch to fix the Timezones, or go with SP6. |

Hi, thanks for persisting with me. I don't know why we are using sp3. It is the just the current version we are running with.
Do i need to make any changes on the database side to use sp6 version of the client?
And back to the question. Is it possible to get a separate install of the OLE DB provider for sp3 or sp6?
Thanks! |

I guess that you first need to determine if you have the TimeZone patch applied on the machines where you are trying to do this, and if so, you could go ahead and use SP3.
As is, SLX 6.2.X is no longer under official support from SAGE, and I'm not sure that you will find many people that have done what you are trying to do either.
I don't have 6.2 software available, so not sure I can answer your question regarding the OLEDB Provider. |
