I'm a new SalesLogix developer so forgive me if I ask some trivial questions.  Embarassed  We have users in-house that have always used a remote client and we'd like to convert them to LAN clients.  The main reason they are remote users is to utilize the What's New feature.  So here are my questions.

1.  Is there a way for local users to be notified of new activities and opportunities the way What's New does?

2.  Can we install a remote client and LAN client on the same machine - and allow the user to log in to one or the other?  The users we want to convert are critical to work flow so I'd like to move one user at a time and have the remote client available in case they need to revert back for some unforseen reason.

3.  Is there any other difference between remote and LAN other than What's New?  I haven't found any other difference but maybe I'm missing the obvious.

There nothing for LAN users to do what What's New does (simply because there isn't, not that it's not possible). You are better to look at something like Task Centre/Crystal/etc. that is alert based and delivers the info to the user - rather than expecting them to trawl for it.

(2) You can have remote client and LAN on same machine - just setup a new connection and point to the live server. A remote client differs from a LAN client only insofar as it includes the sync components. But, nothing to say you can't have both.

(3) See above.

Create some groups that impel proper user behavior for critical workflow coverage\accomplishment.

We've created What's New for LAN user's.....the hard one is showing Deleted items....
