Upgrade from 6.2.1 to 6.2.3

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi All.
Our company currently has SalesLogix 6.2.1 and we wanted to upgrade to 6.2.3 (Service Pack 3) because we were told it would be much quicker. We thought our service contract covered upgrades with our Sage Partner, but they want to charge us a large amount of money to do the upgrade. I then called SalesLogix directly and they told me it wouldn't be much of a problem since we only have minor customizations, for example, we have 2 tables we created on our own, and userdefined fields, and some forms have specific fields and views depending on the user.
Any ideas or pointers or resources? Should I go ahead and pay our partner to do it, or can I do it myself. We only have about 10 users. |

fiogf49gjkf0d 6.2.4 is out and I recommend getting as current as you can if you are going to expend the effort.
I dont know what your service contract is with your partner, but we charge for upgrades. The maintenance plan with Sage entitles customers to the software. The cost to implement the upgrades is billable, however.
You could always set up a test environment and walk through the upgrade as a dry run. You just need to decide if your time is worth more or less than the dollars the partner wants to charge you. And peace of mind is important. If you are not comfortable with the application and you have faith that your partner is competent, you may want to save yourself the stress.
