fiogf49gjkf0d Hi,
I've encountered a problem in trying to install SalesLogix v7 to configure an administrative work station.
During the installation, a dailog box popped up saying "Runtime error 217 at 0040B64A". What does this mean ??
And please let me know the pre-requisites for the installtion of SalesLogix V7 for an administrative wokstation. What are the SQL Tools required ? Is Visual studio required?

fiogf49gjkf0d Yes. that is the DST issue.
As for the pre-reqs for the Administrator workstation. Install the SalesLogix OEM version of Crystal Reports XI R2 first.
Also, do not update CR XI using the check for updates feature. Turn Check for Updates on Startup off. This is located in the help menu. I've run into issues in the past with non-SalesLogix OEM CR 8.5 version where updates broke reports in SLX and SLX support could only tell me to reinstall Crystal using the version they supplied.
SQL Enterprise Manager (2000)/Management Studio (2005) is not required but is a nice option to have.
Visual Studio is not required either, but if you plan in using it then install it. I'd recommend installing it before the Administrator as well. It take quite sometime to install VS and then apply the updates to it like SP1 for VS2005 and OS updates.

fiogf49gjkf0d If SalesLogix is installed but not launching (throwing the runtime errors) use the MSP's from Sage to update your existing installation.
If you have not installed SalesLogix and you have built a "network image" (custom environmental installation) use the UPDATE NETWORK IMAGE option by running the INSTALLSHELL.exe, then run your newly updated "network image".
Otherwise, install SLX and run the MSP's from the vendor to upgrade to v7 SP1.
