Configuring Intellisync as a Power User vs. Admin User.

fiogf49gjkf0d All;
Despite what the install/implementation guides re: SalesLogix and user rights say, it appears that you cannot configure SalesLogix version 7.0 and Intellisync on Power User access - you need full admin rights.
Certain settings for the application are kept for each Windows user account that logs onto the computer -If I log on to a computer and run SalesLogix for the first time, the following two folders are created:
C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SlxIntellisync\Username Here\
C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SlxIntellisync\Username Here.cfg\
Several files are created within these folders during first launch, and are only done correctly/completely if the user has full admin rights on the computer. If a normal user or "Power User" logs on, the folders are not populated correctly. One of the files in these folders appears to contain data that determines whether or not users can see the mail client choices. The file is:
C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SlxIntellisync\Sam Ellis.cfg\Tables.itb
When an admin logs on, this size of this file is 184kb, and the mail client choices are visible. When a non-admin logs on, this file is only 43kb, and the mail client choices cannot be seen.
These files are only created when SalesLogix is first launched, and are not re-created or updated on subsequent launches until you delete these folders and start again.
Is there any way anyone knows of to get away with Power User rights when configuring and installing Intellisync? |
