Installation of Evaluation V 7.0 giving error in Kernel32.dll Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I recently installed 7.0 Evaluation version, and have done Express Installation on my Win XP SP2.
These are the installation steps.

1. MSDE from SLX CD
2. Install.exe from SLX CD with Express Installation option.

I launched Connection manager and was able to do a successful 'Test Connection'.

I tried and launched Administrator.
It came with a 'Send Error Report' dialog. I went ti Event Vwr. The following was recorded.
Faulting application admin.exe, version 7.0.0.1292, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2945, fault address 0x00012a5b.

I tried installing in a different machine and tried to alter the Connection Manger to point to a database instance "MachineName\SalesLogix" and try the same. No luck.
I also tried changing default DB. still no luck.

Can someone figure out what this is all about?

You need to have 7.0 w/SP1 .. it's the GMT stuff...

Oh yes.. none of us use the express install.. not pretty..

Yes, you are right.
Its working now.

And dont forget to stop SQL server service when you install SP1. For some reason, SLX doesnt work when SP1 is installed and SQL Service is running.
