We installed SLX 7.0.1 on a virtual machine with windows 2003 server, our network has ISA Server 2006, and when the clients try to synchronize we get the "unable to connect to ftp site" error, yet ISA says that there is a connection to the site.

Has anyone encountered this or now what could be our problem?

Thanks.

Hi

First try and ping the isa servers IP address from the virtual machine to check it can see the network and the isa server.

have you bound the network card on the virtual machine?

does your isa require authentication to get through - if so is your virtual machine in a different domain and or using a different username and password not recognised by ISA

- can the virtual machine browse the internet (just a connection check)

The Sync server is installed in a different server, also the ftp site (not the same server that has isa), first time it synced well, when closing the sync server and opening it again it says "unable to connect to the ftp site". Also the database was restored to this machine, because we moved our domain. So this is part of a migration.

Try from a command prompt ftp x.x.x.x to check that any necessary machine can get to the ftp server.

If a straight connection does not work SLX will not work either.

Hi

Use the command prompt on each machine involved in the sync process and try ftp x.x.x.x and see if you can get a login prompt for the ftp server.

You say you cannot login w/the default user that has the ftp site?..

A - If the ftp user is not a local user.. make it so and do NOT use a domain user
B - Test it.. remember SalesLogix uses PASSIVE ftp and there is NO way to change that. - test using IE (it's passive ftp by default) of something like filezilla in passive ftp.
C - If B works.. cut new stp's snd have the user's update.

is there a special way to publish the passive ftp site in ISA server to work with SLX?

NOT an ISA user.... SO I'd assume:
A - It's in ISA's documenation somewhere..
B - A good Google search sometimes helps.

That's what I'd do.
