Hi Guys..

I was reviewing Database Administration Forums and I found that It can change the sysdba password on SQl Server.

Considering that
I have
a main Office,
a Remote Office, and
some remote Users(with theirs remote Databases)

I set(change) a sysdba password on Maindatabase and I set a different sysdba pw on remote office database.

When I ran syncronization, nothing was updated in none database of both. Then I tested setting the same sysdba pw in the main and remote offices databases; and next I ran syncronization, and the changes that I made on Remote office was showned on Main Office database, but the changes that I made on Main Office database was not showed on Remote Office database.

When I didn´t change the sysdba password, syncronization was Ok, and the changes that I made on both databases(main or remote ) was showed on both databases after syncronization was run.

My questions are...
How can I set new sysdba pw??? ... What changes Must I do to keep syncronization working OK.

Tanks for your help

Patty

The only thing I can think of after changing the sysdba password is that the synchronization client for the remote databases somehow didn't know about the change, and couldn't save the updates to the database whenever they arrived from the main server. Have you modified the connections on the sync clients for the remote databases and rebooted the remote databases before testing? I'm not sure what else I'd change. I have successfully done this - changed the sysdba password on both servers, deleted and re-added the connections, and restarted either the services for SalesLogix and the database server or just the servers themselves.

I've changed sysdba password too and Jeff's ideas are what I would try.

Try running sync manually from the remote office and watch what happens - you'll no doubt find that the password needs to be changed there and, hopefully, that's all there is to it.
