Is there any way the change the path to the Documents folder on a SalesLogix Remote Client (Version 6.2.6) if the users C drive has not enough space?

Many thanks in advance!
Thomas

Yes and no, read below for a Workaround:

Only if you could change the location of the Documents and Settings folder, which can't be done after the OS has been installed.
SalesLogix relies on the OS for the location of these folders.
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/236621 for more info on this issue.
BTW, I do recall there were a couple of ways to hack your way around this, but they always seem to bring in unintended consequences.

Workaround:
Now, here is a trick that you may want to try, and trust me, this works wonderfully.
- Create a new Partition with enough space to be allocated exclusively for SalesLogix. Assign it a new Letter to it temporarily (e.g. Y)
- Find the SalesLogix folder on the Remote User under Documents and settings\All Users\Application Data...
- Move the contents of your SalesLogix folder over to your Newly created Drive (Y)
- Verify that your SalesLogix folder is Empty.
- Open up Disk Management and Right Click on your SalesLogix Drive (or Partition) and from the Context Menu select "Change Drive Letter and Paths"
- Click on the Add button, and make sure that the "Mount in the following empty NTFS folder" radio button is selected
- Click the Browse button and navigate to the SalesLogix folder under Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
- Click Ok
- I recommend that you remove the "Drive Letter" assignment to the partition to avoid any issues where the user may attempt to utilize the drive for other purposes.

At this point, you would have freed up space on the C drive, as the SalesLogix folder is no longer part of the C drive. It is now a Link to your new Partition.
This change is invisible to all applications, as it is handle by the OS

I have implemented this approach for Cluster Servers for failover purposes and it works wonderfully....
