We seem to be experiencing a problem with a report that we have running as an agent in the administrator.  After 2 or 3 weeks the report will stop running.  a stop and restart of the sync server.  You have to delete the agent and rebuild it with the same report to get it to run again.  The client is running 7.0.2.  Any thoughts?

thanks,

dave

Hi,

Check the Processes within Windows Task Manager on the server where the Agent runs. In the past, I have had a similar issue where the AgentRunner.exe does not end after it has run - This results in multiple AgentRunner.exe's running which eventually crashes the Task and SyncServer.

Hi Adam,

So what is up with AgentRunner.exe and how come Sage seems to have no idea what to do about it or that there is even a problem with it? We also have found that running a simple task of sending a file to a couple users causes several instances of agentrunner.exe to kick off and consume 100% of the Sync Server's CPU crashing it.  This is very annoying since we would really like to use the functionality.  Any ideas on getting past it?

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Do the instances of the AgentRunner.exe end without being killed manaully in the Windows Task Manager? or do you have to End Task them?

Regards, Adam

Hi Adam,

Even after we mark the agents as not "Active", the AgentRunner.exe processes continue to run and consume the CPU. Our Network Admin has to manually kill the processes with the Task Manager on the Sync Server box.

Hi Patrick,

That is very odd as it should not execute the AgentRunner.exe if all Agents are set to Inactive.

Just one thing, are you sure you are not using the Windows Task Scheduler to call the AgentQueue.exe for any tasks?

Also, check within the AgentErrors.txt file within C:\Program Files\SalesLogix to see if there are any reported errors within there?

Regards, Adam
