Hello,

We currently have SalesLogix version 6.2.5 and have a mix of network users and remote users.  My remote users are moving to a different software....so I will only have network users.  The question is, do I still need the sync server or can I turn it off and just leave the application server up and running for the network users.  My sync server is on a seperate server than my application server.

We are upgrading as week speak.

Thanks

UPDATE.....got it taken care of....thanks RYAN!!!!

If you do not have ANY remotes - then you can switch off syncserver service. But, it will still log the changes - so you need to stop that too:

UPDATE sysdba.SYSTEMINFO SET PRIMARYSERVER = 'NOSYNCSERVER' WHERE SYSTEMINFOID = 'PRIMARY'
go
UPDATE sysdba.BRANCHOPTIONS SET SITECODE = 'NOSYNCSERVER'
go
UPDATE sysdba.SITEOPTIONS SET HOSTSERVER = 'NOSYNCSERVER' WHERE HOSTSERVER IS NOT NULL
go

Run the above on the database. That removes the sync server setup (you can add it back later if you wish). And, then remove the syncserver license.
