fiogf49gjkf0d Our company is currently running on SLX v7.2.2
I have two sync servers SYN1 and SYN2. We recently had several business units change CRM's and thus all current users are assigned to SYN2. What steps need to be taken to turn off SYN1 and make SYN2 the primary sync server.
1. SLX ADMIN - System Information - Offices. SYNC OPTIONS tab. The field "Select the SyncServer that supports network users at the Main Office" and "Shared Paths - Logging" is currently set to SYN1. Can I just change these to SYN2?
2. Update the PrimaryServer field within the SYSTEMINFO table to the SYN2 SiteCode via SQL script or does #1 above already handle this step?
3. Update the SiteCode field within the BRANCHOPTIONS table from the SYN1 SiteCode to the SYN2 SiteCode via SQL script?
4. Within the SITEOPTIONS table do I need to update the HostServer field to 'NOSYNCSERVER' where the HostServer IS NOT NULL and currently set to the SYN1 SiteCode? Since I have no "Active" users assigned to this server (SYN1) would I only have to worry about updating the HostServer field to "NOSYNCSERVER' for the SYN1 SiteCode record?
5. SLX ADMIN - System Information - Sync Automation Services. Can I just "delete" the service for SYN1?
6. Do I have to worry about the SYN1 server license or can we just leave it in case we ever decide to add another sync server in the future?
Am I close in my solution? What if anything else do I need to worry about? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
