Hello,

About a month ago we centralized our SalesLogix environment, so now we have one global SLX server and database instead of 7 for each region using SalesLogix.
We also use remote offices in our various regions and have about 150 remote clients (about 50 of them synchronize via an additional SyncServer to take the work off the central server).

Since migrating our systems we have the problem that rows in various of our customized tables are being duplicated or in some cases multiplied. And by this I really mean that the exact same row appears several times, with all the values being the same (also createdate and modifydate). We do not use primary keys in our tables as we wanted to stick to the SLX standard which works mainly without primary keys.
We didn't change the forms that work with the concerned tables, so it's not possible that any of our coding parts cause the rows to be duplicated/multiplied.

The described phenomenon happens on both the remote clients and the remote offices. However, the main server has each row only once, so it seems that the duplicate/multiple rows are not transmitted there via sync, which is good.

Did any of you ever have that problem?? We don't really know what to do as our users are losing trust in SalesLogix when lots of data aren't correct anymore.
We have already contacted our local SLX vendor but aren't really confident that they'll be able to help us within a short time frame.

I'd appreciate every tip you can give us!!

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse anybody
We previously had an own SLX setup for each of our 7 regions, including a main server, remote offices and remote clients. Now we only have one main server for ALL regions.
But this shouldn't matter I guess.

At the moment we can't really remove the duplicate keys on the remote offices / remote clients, the only thing we can do is cut a new database if necessary. Also, we are desperately trying to find out what causes the rows to be duplicated as removing the rows temporarily doesn't do anything to improve the situation (the rows are duplicated again within a few days).
That's why I opened this thread here. Maybe somebody has already experienced this issue?

Thanks!

Well, you may still have Remote Databases that believe that they are the "Main" Database.

SalesLogix IDs include a 4 Digit Site Code that is unique per Database.

Whenever you create a Remote Database on SalesLogix, it will receive its Site Code and that code will be different than the other Remote Database.

When a new Record is created, the ID should be based on the Remote's Site Code.

Given that you are having "Duplicate" IDs, this mean that probably several of your Remote Offices were Cut based on the Same Site Code, or they are just copies of your Main Database.

You will need to review each Database, establish their SiteCodes, Key Bases, etc and if you do find duplicates, cut new Remotes for each Remote Office.
