We currently have SalesLogix version 7.5.1.1742 and have a mix of network users and remote users.

Since monday our Sync Server breaks down after the sync job. The remote clients are still able to sync. I see all the files in the folder infiles. When I delete them the sync server runs perfectly. When I sort the files by Site Code and copy them into the infile folder it sems to work. Sometimes it works sometimes not. Doesn't matter which Site Code i try.  When I check SLX I dont have any changes at the database. In the table syncfiletracking the status is 0 even the Sync Server completed the sync and he dont delete the infiles. I checked the files with transact viewer...looks normal to me.

What does it break down with ? I'm sure it doesn't sit in the corner and cry  there must be some detail.

Your process to try and reset it is bad - the files need to be sequenced and this is just going to make it worse !

I think a file stops the Sync server.

He just stop writing log files like this one here. Its in German....but after the last line the sync stops without any error message.

Hi Tobias,

first write a ticket to sage upport!! Its a big problem.

try to find out which file cause this problem. U have to check on your slx Server the infiles and the synctable at the SLXDB. There u see which file the server expected.

we have still the problem. We shut down the the sync Server and working over Citrix.

The Ticket is open since months (Sep 2011) and the Sage Support USA is trying to fix it. The DB developer are working on it.

But what u can also do is

1. we creat groups in slx on the remote pc for Activitys, company, history, contacts and tickets for each remote user

2. export them to excel

3. backup all the files on the local pc (infiles, outfiles, documents) and than delete all SLX files

4. delete the remote db

5. Backup on your Server the files and delete them

6. create a new db for this user

7. install it on the local pc

8. and sync all files new

9. if everything is working fine u have to get the data from excel into your slx

after that it works about 1-2 weeks ok  and than we had the same issue.

we have solved it!

We added the SyncServer.exe an the syncservice.exe as exception to the data execution prevention..
