fiogf49gjkf0d Hi
On weekly basis i run the sync report and send it to my manager
however other remote users still have files waiting for them to sync since Jan-Feb 2012
If i want to delete these old files what are the steps or alternatively is there a way that i can force the sync server to release these files to them so that when they sync the can be able to receive the files and clear their profiles from the sync report
Remote user in question have been syncing on regular basis and their sync is fully fuctional.
thanks in advance for your help in this regard

fiogf49gjkf0d The remote user in question cannot be fully functional if there are TEF's still on the server for that user. Does your sync report monitor the Outfiles folder? |

fiogf49gjkf0d You can’t just delete the files as the remote user will be out of sync with the host database. You need to go and check why the remote user is not synchronising. Open up the sync client on the remote users machine and press the test button to ensure the user has access to the Outfiles folder?? |

fiogf49gjkf0d Adam,
I've done all that, checked the user has all the right permissions and is directed to corrected sync folder etc.
But i've ran out of ideas dont know what to check |

fiogf49gjkf0d Under the sync options tab are all of the sync options checked: Send Changes | Receive Changes | Apply Changes
Also, get the user to add/edit and then delete a text file within the Outfiles folder to be 100% sure the user has the relevant permissions. |

fiogf49gjkf0d I would recommend you look for a white paper or kbase artical on the sync process. A detailed (9-13 page) docuement used to exist that walks you through the entire process in detail, including the internal structures, file names, utilities for reading the tefs (and what a tef is), for both sides of the process. But, you are looking at the top of an ant hill and all answers will only lead to complicated questions or simple solutions that will cause more problems. Remember, since it is a sync process, its complicated and every action has a reaction, so any change you make needs to be validated on the other side or you create a new issue. Sage Support can probably send you the document pretty quickly. I would expect it to be required reading for any support tech. |
