Ok Limbo may be the wrong term but when syncing this users info this error occurs:

A trapped exception occurred: Access violation at address 00405450 in module 'SyncServer.exe'. Write of address 0000004C.

This error is for every infile that a particular user sends. They never seem to be applied. However the files are removed from the infile folder.

So two questions:
1. What might be causing such an error?
2. Is that data lost? Is there a way to force the remote to resync changes from a certain date range? (ok that's three questions)

Ok it wasn't going into limbo, i'm just ignorant with Sync at this point (but learning quickly). We use FTP for syncing and the infile folder there was clearing out but the 'true' infile folder still housed the files.

The problem ended up being corupted files. There were three of them in total. I opened them with the Transaction Viewer and they had a bunch of invalid user lines. I was able to get past those files and then the rest inserted themselves into the master database without further problems.

I'm going to keep an eye on that user for a week or two just to be sure this issue doesn't crop up again.

What normally would corrupt a sync file like that? A bad FTP transfer? I guessing the data from those files is lost. The viewer didn't show anything useful so he probably lost a few activity updates and such i imagine. Shouldn't be a major problem as long as it doesn't happen all the time. I'm guessing there is little to no way to know what might have been lost.
