Hi...

Let me preface this by saying that our trusty SLX certified guy has moved on to greener pastures. We haven't been able to get someone else certified yet, but we have a client issue that we need help with.

One of our clients had an issue where an ACCOUNT record was somehow removed only from the ACCOUNT table. Records related to this account were still in the related tables (history, etc.). The client's test SLX system (an old copy of their live system) did have a copy of the ACCOUNT record we need in it. We manually added the ACCOUNT record back into the live SLX database and everything looks fine. EXCEPT, these guys have remote sites and users. Guess what? The account record is not on the remote databases.

How can I get this account record into the remote databases?

The same thing happened with a specific CONTACT record.

Thanks for your help.

Best,
Steph

I think you have two choice's;

1) cut new databases for the remotes both users and offices (although the remote office part I am not sure of)

2) when you add the account or contact back in do so using the execute SQL in the administrator and check the box that say's sync to remotes.

The second method is the prefered method but either should work just fine.

Hope that helps Michael.

A third choice (and one I've used a lot)-

Follow these steps
1) On the server, create a new record with basic info for the "missing" account.
2) Cycle the sync server, cycle the remotes. Verify that the remotes can see the new record.
3) On the server, merge the new account and the existing account, making sure the new account is the primary and the old account is set to merge.
4) Cycle the sync server, cycle the remotes. All of the contacts, activities, histories, etc. should now be visible on the remotes.

Since you have an "old copy" (backup?) of the db, I'd recommend the "Group Copy" Utility to do this. It's VERY safe and not difficult to do if you know how to set it up.

I'd also advise getting some help from a "SalesLogix person" to do this.
