We have a remote user Connecting via a VPN and I have been asked what ports we need to add to the VPN ruleset to allow SLX to Sync. I can't find this documented anywhere, and couldn't find the answer by searching this site.

Thanks in advance for any clues.

"Depends"..
If using ftp sync.. follow the rules for Passive ftp

If LAN sync.. well.. that's Microsoft "file share" access

If http/https sync.. no big deal.

Thanks, I thought that might be the case. I now need to find out what method our sync is using - I didn't set this up, can you tell?

It is set to "Servername - transfer profile". As I said, I didn't set this up, but talking to the people who did, we're using File Sharing

LAN sync.. bummer...... NOT a secure method.. not at all..

Think about changing to FTP sync or if you are on v7.0.x then HTTP/HTTPS

I don't think they're worried about the security, as long as it works. And I should have said we're on 6.2.6

That isn't quite what I meant. The VPN is as secure as it can be, and it's because of that that I started this thread, because synching won't work

There are other issues too, but malware isn't one of them
