Sync Cycle on V6.2

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi,
We have just upgraded our test site from V5.2 SP4 to V6.2 SP3 (Hotfixes3 & 5). We have approx. 170 remote users and on V5.2 the sync cycle takes about 20 minutes. After the upgrade the sync cyle takes nearly 5 hours.
The problem area is when the system is running through the subscription rules. The subscribe rules run fine but it seems to take about 50 seconds to process each unsubscribe rule (and some users have 2 of these!).
We have traced the Oracle backend and that is idle during this time.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve |

fiogf49gjkf0d What kind of hardware are you running on the DB server and sync server? (assuming they are on different machines...) Have you been monitoring the performance of the sync server?
Have you checked the Windows SYSTEM evernt log on the sync server?
Also check the sync event log files- typically located: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SalesLogix\Sync |

fiogf49gjkf0d Hi,
There is nothing in the SLX eventlogs other than exactly what is shown during the sync cycles. The Windows system log mentioned that SpeedSearch wasn't configured so I've done that. I've also done a perfmon trace which shows nothing special (processors at 25%, paging file hardly used, file read and write at 1Kb/sec, memory at 2 page writes/sec and less for reads).

cialis generico prezzo in farmacia cialis generico fiogf49gjkf0d Hi Steve,
I've also upgraded from 5.2.4 to 6.2.1, with only 20-25 remotes and no subscription. I did not notice any performance trouble. I've always used FTP sync.
Are you using the same antivirus software? If I remember correctly, SLX recommends to avoid Antivirus Scanning of some temp/working folder.
I should check it, because I do not remember exactly.

fiogf49gjkf0d What version of Oracle are you running?
Slx 5.2 uses BDE to connect to the Database. Slx 6.2 uses ADO (ie OLEDB). Did you install Oracle's latest OLEDB Provider? Note: It is a seperate install.
When you did the upgrade did you generate and execute the Oracle specific scripts? |

fiogf49gjkf0d We are running Oracle 9i and the latest Oracle OLEDB Provider. The antivirus on the server is not lloking at the SLX directories and we have tried turning if off just to make sure.
The issue is currently with Sage who can replicate the issue on their servers with our database. We are currently trying to move a copy of our database to SQL Server using DTS to see if we still have the same issues......
