Change ShowOnEdit value in Code
Posted: 13 Apr 09 2:11 PM
Using mobile 5.1 on a BlackBerry
I would like to toggle the ShowOnEdit value of the Email control from false to true depending on a value of the donotemail field. If DNE=true, then hide the email control and show the email address as standard edit control. Is it possible to access the showonedit of the control? If so, how? I've tried a number of derivatives similar to:
cmpEditField textEmail = (CMPEditField)super.getControl("txtEmail");
textEmail.setShowOnEdit(true);
I was taking a stab in the dark trying the above statement and missed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Martin

Martin, at the time this code has been made the 'ShowOnEdit' stuff is no longer valid. I would expect your best approach is to remove the control from the undelying field manager and insert a new one instead.
