Is it true that Intellisync will only synchronize to PST files in Outlook?

Prior to our recent conversion from Lotus Notes to Outlook 2002, we had people synchronizing with SalesLogix to their personal Outlook address books, and then synching those with their handhelds.

Now that we have converted to Outlook 2002, we have been told that our OST files in Outlook will not synchronize with Intellisync to SalesLogix. A person must maintain 2 address books (a PST (Personal) and an OST (Offline) Storages) so that they can use the PST to synch with SalesLogix, and the OST to synchronize with our Exchange servers, but the PST and OST don't synch. A person's blackberry or 'Q' then does not have the contacts from SalesLogix because that device is synching with the Exchange server.

Is this what you have found? Any work-around this headache of trying to tell someone that they must maintain 2 address books (one for SalesLogix Contacts, and one for Other Contacts?) One big disadvantage to this is that the SalesLogix Contacts aren't available if you are accessing your e-mail via Web, since they aren't on the exchange server, not to mention the remote device not seeing them on the exchange server.

any help to set me on the right path here would be appreciated!

thanks,
-joe
