I've upgraded a couple of clients to 7.2 now and have noticed the Activities tab is no longer working. Did they remove this functionality in 7.2?

Nope, should still be there - they've updated it though. Can you explain what you mean by not working ?

It looks really odd and does not have the fields it used to have:

Screenshots here:
THis is what the activities form looks like

while this is the note the form should be displaying (as you can see its not adding much info, plus look at the column header in the tab view - what's with the ??/??)

I've seen this now in more than one upgraded database. Did I miss something?

Well, yep - that does look odd and isn't right ! Looks like something didn't go right in the upgrade - did you apply all the bundles (and all the content)?
The 2nd screen shot looks right - but the frmActivities window title isn't right either.
Suggest you review the install notes and check off all the bundles that need to applied.

Those screenshots come from a 7.2 fresh installed database that only has the SP1 bundle installed. THe workplan was followed for the upgrade to SP

It wasn't even upgraded from 6.2, though the upgrades from 6.2 have the issue as well.

Guess I'll prepare for an hour long hold session with Sage support. Odd that no one else has seen it.

OK, weirder and weirder ! Are you running any form of WinXP theme or LargeFonts or anything. Out of the box (SP1 didn't contain any activity changes) should be absolutely fine. Is this a blank database of 7.2 or the eval database (does it have the same problem with the eval database?)

I'm guessing some form of emulator/theme issue - as I've not seen that before and it's never been reported before to my knowledge.

Great thought Mike, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Unfortunately it didn't help.

What's odd is that, when I look at the activities tab from a 7.2.0 client - it looks fine. It only appears that way from a 7.2.1 client. Even though the SLX 7.2 SP1 bundle is installed.

Have you tried deleting the slx reg key (for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SalesLogix - just delete entire key and slx will rebuild it) as this stores some of the grid layouts and perhaps is being misinterpreted. I can't think of any other reason ! For clarity's sake - is this SLX Eval or a customer db ?

Just tried that, and didn't seem to do anything.

It may just be my dev machine - I'm going to upgrade another machine to 7.2.1 and see if that changes the way it is viewed.

It is in the Eval, Upgraded Client's, and my own company's database.

Once I isolate what it is I'll report back and let you know in case you encounter it. If it's not machine dependent I'll be talking with Sage Support in the AM (since I don't want to spend 45 minutes in the support queue this afternoon).

Thanks for your help Mike!

It's my machine only - all other machines can see the activities tab appropriately. Looks like I'll need to uninstall, clean the registry, then reinstall later. Thanks again for your help Mike.
