mdac 2.8 RTM install issue
Posted: 21 Jul 08 9:55 AM
I got a new pc running windows xp sp 2 - which installed mdac 2.8.1. I am trying to install Saleslogix 6.2 admin, architect and client from the CD. The msi packages for the install require mdac 2.8 RTM which is included on the CD. Because my pc is already at a later version, the install will not continue. Any ideas as to what specific dlls the install msi packages are looking for ? Or a workaround...

This should not matter ? Provided MDAC is later. What version are you trying to install from - is it a 6.2 SP6 CD ? If not, grab a copy of that. Otherwise - get a copy of Component Checker from Microsoft and validate the mdac installation.
